Our Approach

Helping you find safe, quality care

We carefully evaluate each housing option we recommend. Checking their record with the Department of Social Health Services, calling references and talking to residents, as well as performing on-site announced and unnanounced visits.

We have extensive knowledge of the benefits and limitations of different types of care settings. For example, some assisted living communities can assist people with two person transfers and tube feeding while others cannot.

Another vital part of our processs is completing a thorough intake to evaluate your medical history, current needs and future needs. We will consult with concerned family members and your primary care physician as needed. With a comprehensive understanding of your medical, social and financial needs, we will match you with the right care provider.

Narrowing your options

The senior care industry in the Greater Seattle area is dynamic. New providers emerge almost every day while others close. In King County there are approximately 1065 adult family homes, 150 assisted living communities, and over 100 in-home care agencies.

...We can present you with a consolidated list of three or four of your most appropriate options.

With so many options you may feel overwhelmed by the challenge of finding the right place. We make this easier by providing you with a consolidated list of three or four options. This list is not just automatically generated from a database; but based on our frequent visits to local care providers.

Once you choose a care provider there are many companies that specialize in helping you transition. We will connect you with other services you may need for moving, downsizing, transportation, insurance or financial planning.

You are not alone

We are here to walk through the search for senior housing and care with you. This process has a steep learning curve and our hope is that you will feel comfortable asking questions. Also, we are careful to keep your information confidential, and diligently follow HIPPA.

We work hard to promote the independence and protect the dignity of each sernior we serve. If you desire to receive care in the comfort of your own home we will help you thoroughly explore this option before suggesting assisted living or other types of supportive housing.

  • Abby provides an excellent, professional service. She listened well and directed us to homes that met our requirements, so we didn’t have to search through many that weren’t appropriate for mom.

Abby has great sensitivity and knowledge. She helped us ask the appropriate questions at the different houses. We strongly recommend her help when seeking a loving adult family home for a parent.

  • Abby's warm and caring manner convinced us all quickly that we were in good hands. She was a great source of information. Her background as a nursing assistant and as an employee and manager in an assisted living facility gives her the ability to evaluate the different care options from a number of perspectives. She was very generous with her time, and took us on lengthy tours of the places that interested us.

We were very pleased with the depth of knowledge she has of the extended care industry. We were impressed with Abby's heart for seniors that is seldom found in people her age.

If a need should arise, I have no Doubt that Abby will provide willing and able assistance. She has all of the tools to help people make one of life's more difficult decisions.

  • Abby was very helpful in finding a "home" for my parents. I didn't know anything about Adult Family Homes, I had many questions. She was very caring and answered all my questions- I felt as though she was caring for her own family.

Abby met my parents, who were living in an assisted living facility. They were assessed by the nurse she recommended to help determine the right home for them. Abby researched the Adult Family Homes, took me on tours, asking questions I hadn't even thought of. She recommended an AFH for my parents and found just the right one. Abby did a follow up visit to make sure my parents were adjusting to their "new home."

My parents are being cared for by a loving family, and they seem to be doing very well. I am grateful for that! I really appreciate the time Abby spent with me during a difficult transition."

  • The assistance our family received from Abby was superb, timely and thoughtful. She spent time with us to find out what our needs were then found the perfect solution for mom. Abby is very sensitive and knowledgeable and "feels like family".

We called upon Abby for assistance during our family's most difficult time, and Abby was absolutely perfect in caring for our needs in finding an assisted living situation for mom. Abby is so helpful otherwise we would have been clueless in our search for the appropriate living arrangement for mom.

Mom absolutely loves the assisted living where she now lives, and we couldn't have done it without Abby. Thank you for the peace of mind!

  • What a wonderful service! Abby is easy to talk with. She listened to my needs and concerns and has experience with the elderly and their issues. She returned phone calls and really did follow through.

I am very grateful for Abby's knowledge and assistance. Placing a family member in someone else's care is very difficult and extremely time consuming. I am afraid if Abby hadn't been available I would still be searching in the dark with no one to help me. I think her service is much needed!
